Clearing myths!

Let's bust some common Clearing myths!

With clearing 2024 well underway, we are sharing some of the most common clearing myths. Feel free to add more or ask any questions below...

Clearing Myth #1 Applying is complicated

Here at UCLan we have tried to make the Clearing process as simple as possible, so you can apply in a way that suits you. Chat to us via DM if you have any questions or apply by:

💻 Filling in our Clearing form on our website - Clearing Form (uclan.ac.uk)

📞 Calling: 01772 830 777

Clearing Myth #2 It's too late to apply

There's still lots of time to make your decision. We know circumstances can change last minute, which is why our Clearing applications don't close until 23 September (although we do recommend applying as early as possible to avoid disappointment).

Clearing Myth #3 I won't find a course I like

We have places available on a range of courses to suit your interests. This includes: Business & Management, Acting, Nursing, Neuropsychology, Sport & Exercise Science, Architecture & more...

Clearing Myth #4 I can only apply if I've just left college

Provided you meet the entry requirements, you can apply via Clearing whether you received your results this week, or a while back.

Give us a call and our friendly team will be happy to discuss through your options.

Clearing Myth #5 I won't get accommodation

We have accommodation options at our Burnley, Preston and Westlakes Campuses. Once our Admissions Team have confirmed your place, you will then be able to sort out your accommodation. Learn more about accommodation options here: Accommodation - UCLan

Here at UCLan we guarantee a room in halls on campus for all new full-time students at our Preston Campus!

Wishing you all the best!

Hello, I wrote a mail a few days ago but no one answered. I have a question regarding the med school entry requirement. If I get CCB in A levels, can I apply to study med in UCLAN foundation year? The A-level subjects are biology physics and chemistry. I am an International Student. Is there deadline to apply for 2025 entry?

Hi @ola_2007,

It's great to hear that you are interested in studying here at UCLan. Please be assured that if you have emailed the university, we will get back to you as soon as possible.

We do offer a MBBS Medicine & Surgery (with Foundation Year) programme which is available for international students. This programme requires ABB at A2 in at least two science subjects including Chemistry. You can learn more about the course including modules, entry requirements and how to apply here.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

Best wishes,
Sarah
