Want to resit privately

Hey, I did terribly in my A-Levels (BBC) and would really like to resit them. I want to do so privately, i.e. without my school. I currently hold an offer with my insurance uni, so do I just have to decline their offer? Or do I have to do some other stuff as well on UCAS to indicate I am resitting privately? Thanks

Yep, you just decline your offer. Why don't you want to go to your insurance though?

Your school might be happy to let you resit your A-levels as an external candidate there, so that's worth checking. And on your next UCAS application, you need to declare your previous A-level results as well.

Thanks. I'll e-mail my school and ask if they'd let me take the exams there.

I don't want to go to my insurance because over the summer I changed my mind on what course I wanted to study, and I was hoping I could at least attain something like AAA and use clearing/course transfer/gap year to reapply to a different course (wishful thinking on my part considering I missed these grades by a lot). I tried calling up some unis with my grades, but I wasn't too pleased with my options. I think I'm capable of doing a bit better than BBC anyway, so I'd like to resit and give the whole thing another shot. I already found some great Unis that are lenient when it comes to resits so I'd probably be applying there.

Fair enough. I wish you the best of luck with your next UCAS application
