are freshers wristbands worth it??

are freshers wristbands worth it??

Hello Anon,

I would say that yes, if you plan to go to several of the paid-for events in the evenings as this is what you need the wristbands to get in for. However there are tons of events and society tasters, the freshers fair etc which go on during the daytime which are free and do not need a wristband to join. I personally was not interested in going to all of the evening events, so did not buy one and got on fine. I went to one of the evening events and paid on the door which was much cheaper than buying a whole wristband would have been!

I hope that helps, best of luck in the coming weeks and enjoy your summer

Hi @john3:16 ,

Apologies for the late reply, its been very busy here at Bath in the aftermath of results day!

Huge congratulations on getting your place at Bath! Looking forward to welcome you in a few weeks time

Usually when you get to second year the main option is to find rented accommodation in the city. Most people move into a house with flatmates/coursemates/friends from elsewhere in uni. Most second years go for a place in Oldfield Park which is a nice little community with several student houses, a few shops and a bus stop for the U1 Unibus very close. A lot of the places available are advertised on Studentpad, and people usually try to sort out something in Oct/Nov of their first year to be organised.

If you have trouble finding a place then there are plenty of options, so please try not to worry . Accommodation services (reslife) are able to help you with this such as by helping to find people to share with.

I hope that helps - very best of luck and please post any more questions right here!
