Should I get my A Level History remarked

I was getting A*/A for all of year 13 then I end up with a B in the exam. I got 64/80 on paper 2 (a comfortable A*) but 33/80 on paper 1. I never got a score like that in year 13, and thats just wildly different to the paper 2. It would need to go up 9 marks to be an A should I get it remarked?

I had the same issue, I got A*s in my mocks and also got a B by fumbling my biggest paper that was 40% of the mark (Ironically this was the paper i always did super well on it) I asked my teacher if I should get mine remarked and she said no because, like you, I was 9-10 marks away the next grade.

Which exam board were you with for your history? The thing is as well I didn’t feel like I fumbled it. Definitely not 33/80 when I was getting around 60.
Literally in the exact same boat. Got a B and 9 marks away from an A. Teachers have discouraged a remark but I’ve never gotten a B in any mocks/class assessments and didn’t feel bad when I came out of any exams🥲 I’m AQA

I feel the same way, I felt like my russia exam went extremely well only to get a C out of it. My exam board is OCR, apparently my teacher said theres been complaints about the marking from OCR.

Same I’ve gone ahead with the remark I just don’t see 33/80 being the case oh

I feel like I want to go ahead with it, especially seeing how close I was with all of the grade boundaries. For my Germany exam I was two marks from an A*, for my tudors I was three from an A and for my russia I was one from a B.

I think I will as well just for peace of mind but I don’t have much hope my grade will change ☹️
Very similar situation here for Edexcel Eng Lit. I was a straight A* student and felt great about the papers. I ended up getting an A, one mark away from an A*. Having requested the papers back, I found out that I got 36/40 on one paper but 33/60 on another, a score that I have never even come close to getting before. Having read my responses back, it makes even less sense as the two papers are very similar in quality of answer. I've gone in for a remark and my odds are quite good thankfully but I genuinely think I'm owed at least 10 marks!! It's so frustrating and confusing but you're not alone!

So glad to hear people in the sam boat (sort of, I obviously don't want other people to be in this situation 😂) have you heard anything back yet and what makes you think your odds are quite good?

Haven't heard anything back yet since I didn't need a priority remark. I reckon my odds are good because I only need 1 mark (which statistically i'm quite likely to get) and I know that my answers are high quality having seen them again. Also, since I'm so close to the boundary there's basically no chance of me going down a grade, so worst case I stay at an A. I know it's such an annoying/stressful situation though so best of luck to you with the remark!!
