Should I do a foundation year?

I got BBC in my a levels and was 2 marks off a B meaning I missed my firm choice but got offered a foundation year at my dream uni. However I also have an offer at my insurance for my preferred course but it is a less good uni. Is the foundation year worth it?

I would choose course over Uni. It depends on how much you prefer the course, but your dream Uni will not be so enjoyable if you are aware there was a better course for you elsewhere.

Hey @55nke 👋

What makes the university that you have received an offer for your 'dream uni'? and what course would that be compared to your preferred course?

Whilst it's important to consider all factors of university life, my biggest advice would always be to choose the university with the course that most appeals to you. The last thing you want to do is spend years studying a degree that you aren't as interested in, as it won't be enjoyable. Additionally, have you considered which course would be best suited for your future career goals?

Hey @55nke 🤗

Huge congrats on the a-level results, I hope you did something nice on the day or over the weekend to celebrate? I just wanted to check in and see if you had made your decision? Best of luck with it, I'm sure you've made the right decision for you!

Hey there!

Choosing a university can be a difficult decision, especially when things don't go the way you planned!

I would have a think about whether the foundation year can lead onto your dream course or is it something totally different? It definitely depends on whether you prioritize the course or the university and how much you like your insurance choice!

I hope you get to the right decision for you!
