metal works Bristol
Received an offer yesterday for Bristol, applied way before the deadline for accommodation, but have not been put into any of my choices, haven't got an email yet but checked the accommodation portal and it says that I'm in metals works, is the correct?

This exact same thing just happened to me. The move in date is on the 14th which is after freshers week so I don’t know how that will work. No freshers week for us!!!!!!!!!

exactly its awful, writing an email now to see if its possible to change. I'm sure everyone there feels the exact same, not to mention it is further away and much more expensive than any of the accommodation I applied for.

Congrats on getting into Bristol - it's a shame about your move in date! If you are unable to change this date, Student Roost (Zinc Quarter) still have availability with flexible check in from 7 September if your current situation isn't suitable for you! Bookings can be made instantly online too 🙂

I had exactly the same thing just happen to me. It says were moving in the week after freshers though?
Same - I have emailed the accommodation service to check that the moving in date is correct. It's 7th September for all the others. And only until 31st May. So it seems really weird. Maybe it hasn't been finished yet??
Apart from that, the accommodation and location looks amazing
i talked to the accommodation people on the phone earlier, and they said that it was initially in line with freshers, until there was a change in the academic timetable where everything was pushed back a week. but since the tenancy agreement was already approved with metal works, the building won’t be approved for move in until then. and that’s the only building that’s affected
If enough of us complain... maybe they could change the agreement??

looks nice just worries me that none of the pictures of it are real pictures, also I'm not sure what the surrounding area is like.

I do not know, I know they've said all places are full, but I'm trying to see if any of my other accommodation choices are available, very annoying since I applied so early, expected that to have some effect on me getting my chosen accomodation.

I might but I think its ridiculous to have to pay for someone else's mistake.
This is from another thread - Just called them and apparently a lot of people are complaining. They're going to organise some sort of welcome event given that there's 800 of us in the same boat. There's no direct transport to the uni at the moment but that was brought up in spring so hopefully they'll sort something
same. it was #4 on my choices because it looked like a good accommodation but i had no idea the move in day would be so late. it would be nice if they gave us a temporary place just for welcome week :\
