KCL + City university Nursing
Hi, I have a bit of a dilemma, I really want to do children’s nursing but I couldn’t do it at KCL they’ve offered me adult nursing however I know that’s a good Uni would I be able to switch to Children’s nursing or should I just do City uni for children’s nursing pls help!!!

if you initially wanted to do children's nursing, then go for City university! I know that KCL is ranked higher than City university, but trust me, when you are applying for band 5 jobs as a registered nurse, the nhs trust/(or private hospitals) dont actually look into the university that you graduated from. They only care if you fit the criteria that they are looking for and that you have your NMC pin to allow you to work as a nurse! Also i went to both open days and i like the vibe at city more than kcl.

ahh thank you so much, i would’ve done kcl as ik it’s a good uni but i realised that for healthcare i’d hopefully get a job anyway so gonna try make it work hope it goes well for yoy

Hey! I had the same exact issue. They gave me adult nursing at KCL. So I thought I’d try it out and hated it so I dropped out. Now I’m on a gap year and going to go City next year. I just wanted to know what you are doing now?
