ok update i called in and asked and they have told me the correct address of the store 😁

Hi
Thanks for your update about your interview situation...

At least now you know you have the correct details to where you are to go to for your interview, I haven't known them not to do them outside of the stores.

Good luck with it and hopefully everything goes well for you and you get a offer to work with boots even if it is temporary Christmas staff it may lead to you getting a permanent position with them.

update again. i had the interview, it was more relaxed and i think it went ok however because i have no retail experience i kept relating all the questions back to a lot of volunteering i’ve done for school. she also told me at the end that they were looking for hard working people and i felt like telling her that i would be hardworking but i didn’t want to sound desperate so i just left it but i’m realising now that i should’ve just said something to sort of convince her to hire me 😭

Hi

Thanks for your update on your interview with boots ☺️ ☺️

Glad everything went well for you.
Good you found it relaxing than what you probably expected it to be.... They do try to make you feel comfortable.
As I said previously experience is not necessary but is useful to have.

It can be very hard going at times in boots especially with the special promotions that they do so many times a year ( mainly in the bigger stores) as it all hands on deck as they say. Other times it can be enjoyable to do your work

Understand you don't want to sound desperate but as long as you have done enough to impress her then you never know 😉 😉.

Hi
Well done you for getting through your interview with boots today 😊 😊 😊
At the end of the day you can only do your very best at a interview and you will learn from this one and take it into any future interviews you might have but hopefully boots will offer you a job and then after the temporary period is up be offered a permanent job with them. Keep your fingers crossed 🤞 🤞 🤞 for good news within the coming days.
That's good that you were treated nicely with the lady who interviewed you today. They understand that people will be nervous about doing interviews so don't worry to much about you stuttering a bit. Yeah that's the thing about interviews you don't know what questions you are going to be asked reasons why I couldn't give you any precise questions as only some examples.
You do need lots of skills working with boots because you will be asked anything by a customer and you have to know what to answer and if unsure you get someone else to assist you 😞. Normally you don't reply with a email anymore questions if you have any questions that you want to ask them but you don't know you might get a response back from her.
I like the part about the old man asking you if it's okay to join you on the bench, sometimes you think it is a creepy thing but other times they are just bored looking for someone to talk with for a while, you'll certainly find that one out if you are successful with boots job.
Hope everything is good 👍 👍 👍 look forward to a update once you know outcome.
If possible you should apply for other positions with boots while you await your interview response as if you are successful with another interview with them and you do get offered a job in the coming days then all you do is cancel your other interview asap to allow another person to get it.

She hasn’t gotten back to me yet. I know I’m probably being a little impatient but she said she aimed to get back to everyone by yesterday. should I reach out soon and ask about the outcome just in case she’s forgotten to send me mine or should I wait more?

You have two options you can do
1) await and see if you hear from them in the next few days or so
2) perhaps contact the store and ask for the manager and ask them if they can tell you what is happening regarding your recent interview as you thought you would have known by now.

Check your online boots account and see if you have any messages regarding your recent interview as either way they should let you know the outcome.

Sometimes they say a date you'll hear back but it sometimes doesn't happen until a few days later as it depends on if they have made a decision yet.....
I heard back just now and…I got an offer!
I’m so happy honestly I thought I wasn’t going to get it. I decided to finally email them today while I was on my way back from college and just go an email back 10 minutes ago.

Thank you so much for all your help with everything!!!

Wow I'm very excited for you 😀 😀 big hugs and congratulations to you getting a offer to work with boots.

I'm pleased you actually contacted them about it and it was probably worth it for you as you are now going to be part of a wonderful employer.

Don't worry about not able to help customers with things if you are unsure because you just take them to a staff member who'll be happy to help you with the customers request.
It's take a while to remember everything you are doing with boots but I'm sure you'll be fantastic 🤩.

I'm here if I can help with things within reason as majority of what you want to know will be with your new colleagues in your boots store.

Hopefully you'll be offered a permanent job once your temporary contract is up.

When do you start working with boots and are you happy with the hour's you're going to do. Just remember that when you are on holiday from college you can ask if you can do more days with them okay.

Good luck with the job.

Sorry to hear that you were unsuccessful in your boots interview.

You'll have to ask them for your feedback, sometimes they put it on your online account so check that.

Be aware that nobody can give you any particular questions about there interview.

Apply again for perhaps another nearby boots store and make sure you use your interview you had recently to improve your chances. You'll not be able to apply for the same job reference for a year but the online account will tell you that you already applied for a particular job reference number anyway.

Where do you think you went wrong at the interview - if you know that then you can work on that areas.

I think i went wrong one a couple questions to do with customer service, long story short she was asking me how i would help someone who was buying something for their friend. i was confused and just said i’d ask and give suggestions. it hasn’t crossed my mind that i obviously had to ask for the gender of the friend to help first and so she sort of kept asking me questions around it. Also she stumped me with a question asking me about how i’ve used my passions to solve a problem, i had no idea on any examples to give so i just sort of rambled nonsense for a minute. I have applied for another boots job at a different store so hopefully i get offered an interview and can improve this time. also another question, by job reference is that specific to that store or is it a general reference for the role?

Hi again,
I was reading through the offer on the portal thing and it said that my induction day will take place at the end of next month (they did give a specific date). However, my induction day is on a weekday and I’m unsure if I’ll actually be able to make it on that day as I have college. In the interview, I did say that I was available on weekends and possibly one weekday.

Do I email them and tell them that I cannot make that induction day? If I can’t make the induction day, does that mean they will be likely to withdraw their offer? Does the day of the induction day reflect my actual workdays I’m expected to do or does everyone just have it on the same day?

Sorry there are loads of questions there but I’m just a a bit confused.

Hi again,

What I would suggest to do in regards to your induction day being done during a weekday is contact the store that you are going to be working in ASAP ( either you can pop in personally and speak to the store manager and ask if it's possible to rearrange your induction day to a Saturday or Sunday due to your commitment at college or phone them to ask them basically the same thing but I think it would be nice to pop in personally if possible if you can do that say on your way home from college early next week and get it done promptly) they are generally flexible if you can contact them.

For them to withdraw your job offer - it only generally happens if they do not wish to continue filling this particular role, I have not come across this situation yet due to someone can't attend there original date for induction as they should be able to reschedule it for you.

Do it on Monday by getting in touch with them as I said either popping in to the store on way home from college or phone them asap and explain things.

I wouldn't just not turn up to be honest as it is best to sort something out with them.

Keep me posted on what they say.

Hi

Don't beat yourself up over answering questions badly as you can only do your best on the day and you at least did it.

At least you know what they mean now with the questions that you were asked about.... You have to be thoroughly when you are asking a customer about stuff that they are buying for either themselves or someone else as that way you can at least give them the best advice available and suggest that the product is suitable for there needs or if you don't think it is you ask someone else for further advice on it especially if it is medication then therefore speak to the pharmacist about the person symptoms and they will give you there best advice.

Yes definitely do not be afraid to ask some personal questions to a customer as you absolutely need to know everything about the other person they are buying for as some medication may not be suitable for certain genders okay.

So when you apply for a job role with boots ( I think other retailers do similar things) you have a job reference number attached to the job application and sometimes they use the same job reference number for every single store and other times that particular number is only for that one store. The reference job number is reference to that particular job when people apply to ( you'll find a lot of boots job roles with identity job description but they use different reference number for each job role) I think it's to do with filling the amount of people they are wanting over the whole store and obviously over the whole week as well.

A bit of advice when you are applying for jobs with boots, try not to apply to too many jobs at the same time ( perhaps two every 2/3 days)

You always learning from each interview you do but you'll be successful.

Hope your will be given the opportunity for a interview with the other boots store you apply to.

hi again!
so i have another boots interview, it’s for a christmas temp this time, i was wondering if you had any advice to offer on how to answer the interview questions like how to answer questions when i don’t have any retail experience, also what do you reckon they’re looking for personality wise and work ethic wise when they interview people? i’m trying to not mess up again lol

Hi

Apologies for late reply.

The problem is that you don't know what questions you are going to be asked which makes it harder for you to try and answer them.

You know roughly what you were asked the last time so basically try and base your answers on those but you probably won't be asked the same thing again.

Don't worry about personality wise, they are only interested in you being able to work hard under pressure at certain times ( especially Xmas period as it's non stop hectic usually).
Put yourself over the best way forward as a very hard working person and you are keen to learn new things all the time.

You might have had your interview by now but hopefully it goes well for you this time.

You might think it is a Christmas temporary job but there's opportunities for you to be asked if you want a permanent job at the end of your temporary contract as long as you do what you asked, always on time and not taking sick days of them hopefully they will offer you a permanent job.

Hi.
I’m starting next week Saturday now which is good. I was also just wondering do you know if Christmas temps get any days off? Because I realised that I’m going to be working around my birthday and I usually do something on my birthday weekend to celebrate. I read my contract but it didn’t specificy about Christmas temps.
