Hi, i’m still waiting for a response back about the interview outcome, a few days ago i saw a new listing for the same job and was a bit confused. I’m not sure about what i’ll do if they don’t get back to me soon.

hi

You mentioned something about seeing the same job advertised a few days ago - is it the same reference number as the one you applied for with boots... ( Each job they advertise has a reference number attached to it, they do sometimes intend to reuse the same reference number for new jobs but very rarely this happens - if it is the same reference as your current one then you can't apply for the job as not allowed to do so for a year normally). Of course your online profile would not let you apply for it anyway.

You should be getting a response from them either way to let you know how you did 🙂 🙂.

Any concerns about it I would probably suggest you contact the particular store you applied to and ask for a update on your application.n

Hi

Wow thank for the update on your job possibility with boots.

It's sounds like you might be offered a job with boots with way you said that " the hiring manager asking to speak soon", I'm keeping my fingers crossed 🤞 for you 🙏.

Yes you are probably right that you would have had a email saying "sorry you weren't successful on this occasion".

Hopefully they won't take to much longer to notify you with a phone call 🤙.

Look forward to hearing from you soon with updates. X

Hi

Congrats and well done for getting the job offer with boots.

Good you eventually got the offer from the store you applied for as took them long enough to do so.

Pay generally starts around £10.64 per hour for customer assistant/advisor in boots but yes please do check with them what you should be getting paid okay. I'm obviously earn more than that because of being a pharmacy dispenser advisor ( £11.70 per hour)

Is the job for Christmas temporary and did they give you a time scale of how many weeks you'll be working with them and hopefully if it's a temporary job you'll be given a chance of permanent contract ( this depends on if you attend every day without being sick, getting on well with the other staff and working well as part of a team and don't get yourself in trouble with anyone) .

You are welcome 🤗 🤗 🤗 for advice I given you okay.
Keep me posted on how things are going 🙏 you can always PM me.

I'm not in boots today because of working Nightshift last night and will be catching up with my shift in boots later in the week.

Hi
it’s a temporary job with opportunity for employment after the contract ends.

Hi

Hi

Thanks for letting me know about the boots job being temporary for time being and I really hope you will impress them enough for to be given the opportunity to become a permanent full time staff member as I am sure you'll thoroughly enjoy yourself working with such a big company. If I remember correctly I think our store kept on around 40 temporary Christmas staff on permanent contract out of 60 temporary staff ( most never got kept on because of bad time keeping and to many days of sickness which goes against you).

Remember when you are wearing your lovely boots uniform you are representing yourself and also the boots chemist as you are the first person that a customer will have interactive with. Don't worry about not knowing where things are if asked as you go and get a permanent staff member to assist you.

Hope you get started soon as you'll be excited to get started 🙂 🙂 🙂. And remember what I wrote previously with keeping yourself out of trouble and doing everything as asked because you will probably be given all sorts because of it now almost the start of the busiest period ahead over the next 8 weeks or so ( Thursday, Friday and Saturday and Sunday are the most busiest time of the week over the next few months so be prepared for hard work ahead).

I have just done my Saturday shift today and I'm back in tomorrow as got few days off from nursing as working Wednesday and Friday and back in boots the weekend ☺️.

Keep me posted on how you doing and remember you are welcome to PM me

Hi again, its been a while. Ive had 2 shifts now since being hired, I have been paid for one of my shifts and not the other. I am unsure on if its because the boots working week is different to the regular one or if its because my first shift is not paid due to it being half training half actual work on the shop floor. I was wondering if you'd know the reasoning.

Hi
Nice to hear from you as you said it's been a while.

Hopefully you are enjoying working with boots and you settling in with what you are doing there.

Now regarding your pay - boots staff are generally paid around the 28th of each month unless it's falls on a weekend day or public holiday and therefore you'll be paid the Friday before that.

Boots has a cut off playdate for each month - tends to be about a week prior to payday ( example is if you are generally paid on the 28th of the month then the cutoff date would be either the 20th or 21st of the month - this is too allow time for staff to be paid on the payment date, everything after the cutoff date you'll be paid for the following month).

This could be the reason for why you been paid for one shift and not the other one 😞 😞 😞 .
Yes unless you understand how pay is paid with boots it's confusing for you until you get used to it 😞.

If you were unsure about why you been paid for one and not the other you should have just asked a permanent staff about it or manager as soon as you noticed that you weren't paid for both shifts but hopefully what I said above will be useful for you but please make sure when you get paid for next month ( November) that you have been paid for it plus the shifts up to say the 21st November okay 👍 👍 👍 👍

Boots are not the only retailer who works this way as Tesco does the same as boots and there's a few other retailers who do it - it's just because they can have time to process anything you worked before sending it to your bank account.

Hopefully everything is ok with you and you received your cute new uniform.

Yeah little Emma is right. That happened on my first week too.Apparently cause Christmas temps get paid weekly, if you work Saturday/Sunday (like I do) on the first payday you only get paid for the Saturday, and then on the second payday you get paid for the (first) Sunday and the (Second) Saturday you worked. So on and so forth for the rest of the time. So the cutoff is the Saturday. Idk if I’ve explained well but yeah.

Hey! congrats to the people who got hired. I've been trying to get a job for a couple of months now using Indeed and don't get many interviews. I've only been to 2 interviews and though I got hired at one sales rep job I had to decline because of family situation. Do you guys have any CV tips or anything. I'm 18 and taking a gap year so have a lot of time and I want to save up for uni

hey!! the only tip that i can really think of is to make it clear that you have a lot of availability. the place i’m working at now really values that and it’s probably one of the main reasons why. but also don’t lie about your availability just to get hired, especially if you know you can’t work that much. Also apply to loads of christmas temp jobs, they tend to hire more quickly because of demand.

Would you be better using retailers own website for applying for jobs rather than something like indeed as you will probably get better opportunities to have a interview.

Be honest about what hours and days you are available for working.
Getting a temporary job can always lead to a permanent job.

Glad your store is appreciating your availability now and it looks good for you as well being available to do extra hours which can hopefully lead you to a permanent job offer....

Hope everything is going okay for you at your boots store

The only problem with this is it is very time consuming to have to fill in the same info over and over again and even do 20 min pre-interview tests as well. I'll give it a go though

Yeah you might think 🤔 🤔 it's time consuming but you might just get a job offer from doing it 🙂 🙂.
You should be able to copy and paste over your information from Indeed to whatever retailer you apply to Via there own website so could possibly save time that way ☺️ ☺️

You will probably have to do the online assessments if you get through the application side first and then await a potential interview.

I know people who applied through indeed and got nowhere and I told them to use the retailers on website and they got a job within a few weeks.
