The exam board didn’t mark half my paper.

Hi,

I did history a level, on paper 3 I used two writing booklets as I had a lot to write they only marked one of the booklets and I was awarded 8/60. Which meant that I got a grade D overall. I checked the scripts and it says I’ve given no responses to the first half of the questions when I’ve clearly written a lot. This has meant that I’ve had to go to a foundation course. I asked for a remark but they still haven’t got back to me and I have to wait till Monday. It’s not fair, I feel quite sad as this is my resist year too.

If it's as clear-cut a mistake as it seems to be, then it'll likely get sorted. I assume the "missing" booklet has your Candidate Number, Centre Number, etc. on it?

OK. So they've no excuse for not having marked it!

I’m just confused, if it is found that they didn’t mark half the paper, leading me to getting a poor grade. What happens? Do we just move on

Then you should get it remarked (unless that's included in their review) and your grade will be bumped up. What exam board was this? It seems outrageous that they missed half your exam.

Where does the "if" come from?

In your original post you wrote that, "they only marked one of the booklets" and later you wrote "I checked the scripts and it says I’ve given no responses to the first half of the questions when I’ve clearly written a lot." Isn't it clear that they didn't mark that booklet?

If they've not marked the full paper, then this will be corrected and you'll get a new mark (as hopefully a new grade).

You wrote above that, "I asked for a remark but they still haven’t got back to me and I have to wait till Monday." Today is Monday, so what did they say?
