MSc Nursing and Physician Associate Studies

Hi,

I have a first degree in law but I am wanting to become a Physicians Associate however I need a science related degree in order to meet the entry requirements for a masters in Physician Associate Studies. If I was to do an MSc accelerated nursing degree first would I still be eligible for postgraduate funding for the Physicians Associate masters or not because it is an equivelant course?

Thank you ☺️

I've moved your thread to the Ask Student Finance England forum so that an official SFE/SLC rep will reply to your question.

Hi Ema,

Do you know if the Physicians Associate course is classed as a Postgraduate Healthcare course, or is it just a regular masters?

Thanks, Graeme

Hi, I’m not sure Graeme. It is funded via a postgraduate loan if that helps?

Do you know the full course name and where you'll be studying this? Thanks, Jason

Hi Jason
I'd be looking at
MSc Physician Associate Studies at the University of Manchester https://www.manchester.ac.uk/study/masters/courses/list/12571/msc-physician-associate-studies/
Hi there,

The course you have mentioned is classed as a Postgraduate course. Can you confirm the full name of your accelerated nursing course and what university you will attend for this course? How many years is the course?

Thanks, Drew

Hi Drew,

So it would be an MSc in Adult Nursing at Manchester University
https://www.manchester.ac.uk/study/masters/courses/list/18749/msc-adult-nursing/

Thank you
Hi Ema,

You would be eligible for the nursing course as this is classed as an exception course however once you receive this qualification you would not be eligible to apply for the physician associate course as you will have an equal level qualification.

Thanks, Drew
