2nd year (holiday)

i'm going on holiday in October for 13 days I passed my 1st year with attending lectures all the time and going to every lab. However what should I do since my family has booked well in advance and i do the work I am assigned etc. So the university doesn't think I'm slacking and i understand this year is pivotal and i am going to work so hard

Should I tell my programme leader and personal tutor my conern?

No. You should tell your family that they're absolute idiots for booking a holiday at a time when you're not available. Did they not ask for your term dates before booking the holiday?
Yes we did and i have them now!
This was booked in advance, best I can do is tell them and do the best I can

Universities publish their term dates at least a year in advance so people can plan this sort of thing.

13 days means missing 2-3 weeks of academic work.

You get to make the decision as to whether holidaying or studying is your primary concern. You could just tell your family that you can't go because it's term time and that you can't afford to miss lectures. And bear in mind too that there might be assessments/coursework in that period that you might miss, and that might result in you failing modules and needing to re-sit.

You need to make it clear to your family that they need to check dates with you before they book things -- otherwise they might do the same thing next year too.
I've worked it out i miss 9 days of contact time with lecturers and I'll be taking my laptop anyway and phone to keep updated
Hi Anonymous #1,

I just wanted to give you some reassurance from a student perspective. During my three years at university, I have had a few friends take some time out to go away on holiday and it has been absolutely fine! If your uni logs your attendance, I would suggest you let them know you aren't going to be around, but I wouldn't worry too much if not. If your lectures are recorded, like ours at Exeter, I would suggest that after your holiday you should catch up, although if your lectures aren't recorded then I would contact your lecturers and ask to have a catch-up. Perhaps during their office hours, you could meet with them to figure out what you missed and where to go from there. However, you should enjoy your family holiday and relax! Have fun and let yourself catch-up at a later date, unless of course you are missing crucial deadlines and or exams.
