Am I in clearing

Hi all

When I log into UCAS I see a prompt at the top and it states: You can now add a Clearing choice in your application. Only add a Clearing choice if a university or college has given you permission to add their course, and you want to accept it. If you add a Clearing choice without discussing it with the uni or college, this may delay the process.

Underneath this prompt is my university offers and nothing has changed since the 5th of may.

Have I somehow been placed into clearing? I did call a university a few days ago asking if they had space to which they said no but they did take my ucas ID and mentioned I would need to reject my current offer to accept a new one.

So did you have a confirmed place at your firm or insurance choice that you rejected? Did you press the 'release me into clearing' button?

I haven’t rejected anything nor have I pressed decline my offer. My offer still shows as confirmed.
I’m just wondering why that prompt is showing mentioning you can now add a clearing choice even though all I did was provide my ucas id to a university asking if they had space to which they said no.
So do you have a green tick next to your uni and course confirming that you have a place? Or a yellow 'i' saying that you do not have a place at any of your choices? If you have the green tick, is that the uni you wish to go to?

Yes it’s the green tick at the uni I want to go to nothing has changed at all.

I’m just wondering why there’s a little prompt at the top which mentions that you can now add a clearing choice etc.

Just for reference all I did was call up another university enquiring if they have space on the MPharm to which they checked and said no. However in the process they asked for my ucas id and said that I’m holding an offer elsewhere (my current one) and said if an offer is made to me I would need to reject it.IMG_6207.jpeg
It's odd that you do have the clearing prompt, but if you haven't released yourself into clearing and you still have the green tick, then it will be fine.

Can universities release you into clearing on their own if you give them permission to? As in I know I didn’t release my self into clearing nor did I give the uni I enquired for them to do so but can universities decline your firm offer if you tell them to?

No - another uni can't release you into clearing.
