These are traditional science subjects that are essential for careers in healthcare, medicine, pharmaceuticals, and environmental science. They also develop analytical and problem-solving skills.

yes medicine requirements are usually chem and bio, third subject can be anything, obviously something stem based like maths or even psych (biopsych unit is defo v useful knowledge) can be a good choice but overall it doesn’t matter

to be honest its good its more easier to balance than having maths, having one easier subject like psych / business helps

hi yes i have taken these options and honestly i am glad i have, I see other people struggle with the more "harder" options such as bio chem maths, and i feel like i can focus more on bio chem because of this, i wouldn't say business is easier, as all a levels are hard, but its different to science, which can make it more fun, also, You still have the same chance to get into medicine as long as you do bio chem
Hey there!

Your A-level combination of Biology, Chemistry, and Business is somewhat unconventional for medicine but still acceptable for most medical schools. Biology and Chemistry are the core subjects required for entry into medicine, so you meet the essential criteria. While many medical schools prefer a third A-level in Physics or Maths to complement the scientific rigor of medicine, Business is not typically a disadvantage. It demonstrates skills like analytical thinking and decision-making, which can be valuable in the long term.

That said, it’s important to check the specific entry requirements of the medical schools you’re considering, as preferences for the third subject can vary. If you’re confident about pursuing medicine, excelling in Biology and Chemistry is crucial, and you’ll also need strong performance in Business to present a competitive application. Additionally, securing a high UCAT/BMAT score and gaining relevant work experience will be essential to strengthen your application.

This combination is also advantageous if you’re considering broader career options, such as healthcare management, pharmaceuticals, or entrepreneurship, as Business provides valuable skills beyond medicine. If you’re unsure about your career path, this mix of subjects keeps your options open.

Your combination is good overall for pursuing medicine. With dedication and careful planning, you can achieve your goals.

I hope this information helps!
Good luck!
