Combination of qualification

Hi guys. I just finished my first year at college studying the BTEC. I want to attend Cambridge University but they don’t usually accept the BTEC qualification. So, I’ve decided to take A Levels instead for my second year. (One qualification for each year). What do you guys think?

How many A levels would you be taking in that second year? An A level is designed to be a two-year course, so if you tried to do three of them in a single year it would be very tough going. But any less than three would be of no interest to Cambridge. So it's not clear how this plan would work.

Which BTEC was it, by the way? How did you find it?

Thank you. It’s a Level 3 Business. I found a college that offers the ‘mix and match’, where one could join both BTEC and A Levels. For the A Levels, I’m looking to study Law.

Cambridge doesn’t not accept the BTEC singularly, they accept it alongside A Level. And I’m working on achieving both qualifications.

So you'd have Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Business and an A level in Law. Have I got that right? Of would you continue the BTEC into the second year (as well as taking the A level) and get the BTEC Extended Diploma?
