Theoretically speaking, is it possible to do A-Level Maths & A-Level FM in one year?

I just got my results from A-Level, receiving A*AA in Business, Accounting and Economics, but finance/econ courses at top universities require mathematics of some kind, so I am wondering if I can do Mathematics privately in one year, and perhaps even FM alongside it? Does it sound crazy?

Doing both maths and further maths in one year is highly unrealistic. You probably want to achieve a top grade so I suggest just taking maths. Just taking maths in one year at school would be about 8-10hrs of maths content lessons a week alongside 8ish hours of homework so I suggest doing this but at a faster rate eg 16-18hrs a week so you have time to revise later on in the year before the a level. Doing both maths and FM would mean you would have to do around 30-40hrs of maths a week just so you could finish before a levels. You probably want to only do maths so that you solidly have to time to understand and process it. I think doing FM would jeopardise your grade in maths as it is a lot more work. If you are planning to do either I suggest using bicen maths and getting the textbooks alongside. Bicen maths has video lessons on all of the chapters in the textbook. Once you have watched these I suggest completing all of the exercises in the Edexcel books as practice . Once you have completed everything you can do revision with past papers, madas maths paper and many more maths websites.

If you're studying Pearson Edexcel, then yes you can sit A-Level Maths in 3-6 months and A-Level Further Maths in 4-5 months. Especially since there are model answers with each textbook online.
I would recommend you take CP1, CP2 with optional papers as FM1 and FM2 and maybe one of FD1, FS1 or FP1 as a backup paper.
You should use TLMaths, HindsMaths, Examsolutions and BicenMaths.
I can send you all the textbooks in a 3GB zip file online with all the eBooks!!! 🙂

That would be lovely, thank you!!

It's all about discipline, you've got to be working on past paper questions around the clock, analyzing the mark schemes, understanding how certain figures were calculated, and applying yourself in general essay questions. I did AQA for Accounting, so there's not many resources but past papers is all you'll really need. Just over and over until it sticks.
