Just qualified in social work

Just done a BA hons in Children Schools and Families and finding it difficult to get a job with children in a residential setting due to not having up to date experience min of two years. Applying for jobs with adults as i'm getting no where with just life experience. Was thinking of registering soon. Can you register for both children and adults in social work??

Any tips or advice would be great thanks.

Is this a course you’re able to register as a social worker with, with Social Work England?

I would double and triple check - I did BSc Social Work and my understanding that only ways to register as a social worker are:

BSc Social Work
MSc Social Work
Frontline
Step up (to social work)
and via Social Work apprenticeships working directly under Local Authority.

I’m happy to be wrong, but would hate for you to apply to SWE for your registration to be told your degree doesnt entitle you to.

Also, you don’t register for one or the other - you just register, you should be able to work with both groups as transferable skills.
