Help medicine 2025 !

Hey,
I really would love to apply to medicine in 2025 entry. However, I am concerned that with its competivness i am simply not good enough
These are my stats (i would have to strategically apply):
GCSE: 1 x 8 - 4 x 7 - 3 x 6 - 1 x 5 (german :c)
A level prediction: AAA (chem, bio, history)
UCAT : yet to sit but scoring 2600 (medify) 2700 - 2800 (medentry)
Work experience: 2 days on podiatry, 3 days in interventional radiology (surgical), 2 months in a pharmacy
Super curricular: The man who mistook his wife for a hat (book), County swimmer, Volunteered at local swim club for 6 months, Maths tutor (12 months), completing MOOC on bioethics of abortion

I know my grades are not the best. I was hoping I may get a contextual offer from a uni as I am autistic and also both parents did not go to uni. My household income is also fairly low. With all these factors considered do I have a chance and what universities should I be looking at. I don't meet the threshold for most foundation years as I live in a wealthy area and my mums income isn't low enough for some contextuals.
Any advice would be amazing !!!!!

Hey,

You miss every shot you do not take, so there is no harm in trying. There are a few universities that accept lower grades (do your research), but try to bring your UCAT score a little bit higher.

Best of luck!

I was thinking like Bristol maybe as well as I get a contextual and Hull York potentially
I have similar gcses so based on my research I would not apply Newcastle their scoring process is 50:50 ucat and gcse scoring they just changed it this year so if gcses on lower side bad option. bristol is fine if guaranteed an interview if not need a 2900 ish ucat and hull york should be okay they have a scoring system on the website so check it out

Bristol guarantees interviews depending on if you do a programme with them live in a specific post code and I think attend a certain school you should double check. I am applying this year I am looking to apply to hull York. I have lower GCSEs so quite limited so can’t apply Sheffield so idk a lot about that uni but aru is a possibility with 2700 maybe

Sheffield is really good imo, I went to their summer school. I enjoyed it
for bristol Guaranteed offers | Study at Bristol | University of Bristol
this programme is open ig if anyone wants to apply - Next Step Bristol

this is sheffields process Medicine admissions | Medicine and Population Health | The University of Sheffield
it seems okay but you still need around 2850+ based on last years cohort its a high ucat uni

anglia ruskin cutoff last I heard was around 2670-90 so I think thats pretty decent for a medical school
if ucat doesnt pan out can always think about keele and sunderland very subjective scoring process thou

Can’t really tell without the ucat score tbh but Brunel and uclan I think this year are low ucat safeties can’t be 100% sure thou as this is the first year I clan is for the RUK and Brunel is fairly new as well but I think last year people with low ucat a applied and got it may have to double check on the thread thou. Also St George’s like 2700-2800.

Hopefully I’ll have a chance 😭 My parents were going through a horrendous divorce when I took my GCSE’s so they aren’t a true reflection and I was so burnout (autism) but universities don’t seem to take that into consideration
I am sure it will be fine you are in a better position than me anyway. So just keep working hard and it should hopefully pay off
