University admissions, please help

I am a mature student with a conditional offer to study nursing at university of Nottingham this September. My condition is based on achieving grade 4 in maths GCSE, i sat maths GCSE this summer and will know my grade on result day this Thursday. I have all the other qualifications required including an access course with distinctions in every unit.

My concern is the uni have been in touch asking for proof of the maths qualification by 6th September. I will not receive the certificate until October and the college where I sat the exams as a private candidate are not issuing paper statements on results day. I will find out my result on Thursday through an online account and the university have stipulated they will not accept screen shots. How am I to provide proof in time for 6th September? I have also posted this on the University of Nottingham forum but if anyone could help with this I would really appreciate it as i am starting to worry, thank you.

They should be able to access your GCSE result via UCAS - thats all the proof they actually need.

Ask the exams office at the college to email your results to the university with your application details (name, date of birth, course and UCAS ID).
Most universities will accept verification from an exam centre sent to them directly.
GCSE results aren’t passed to universities in-year. UCAS started trialing matching GCSEs for completed results in the past but abandoned it due to the number of results.

Alternatively ask if the university can access your results via LRS

Thanks for replying. I did a bit of research online earlier and from what I could see, UCAS only receives A level results from the exam boards and not GCSE. Is this correct?

Thank you for this, I will email them requesting they do this. I’m starting to get a bit worried as this all needs sorting before the deadline but I imagine I won’t be the only one waiting on GCSE results for uni.

Can I ask what is LRS?

the LRS is a system for universities to access awarded results where those results are linked to a ULN (unique learner number). Nottingham University is on the list of providers with access but not all admissions staff or universities actively use LRS to verify qualifications. Where I work we use it a LOT to save time asking applicants to send proof of their qualifications.

This is really good to know. I will be contacting the exams team at the college on Monday, I will request an email to be sent with my results after Thursday. Thanks for your help.
