Cambridge gap year for computer science?

Hi,
I was met with some disappointing news this week over my A level results. I had been given an offer to study Computer Science at Cambridge with an offer of A*A*AA, with the A* having to be in Further Maths. Instead I got an A*AAA, with an A* in Maths, being just 4 marks off the FM boundary this year.
I have met my insurance offer from Southampton though, but I am not sure if I will enjoy the course, because of how oriented it is towards the software engineering side of CS.
I had met my offers for Imperial and UCL, and have done well in maths in the past. These A levels were quite a disaster this year...
I am wondering if it is viable if I should take a gap year and reapply to Oxbridge and Imperial, whilst resitting further maths. How detrimental will my current A level scores be in the application, even if the interview and TMUA go well?
Many thanks,

Also id like to ask if Universities will be able to see the fact I will be resitting my FM paper or not. I am asking since I am worried that they may auto-reject me since my current A levels wouldn't meet their offer in the first place.
Thanks again,

If I'm not mistaken, you are required to disclose all your previous grades to universities, so they will see that you previously obtained an A in A Level Further Maths and that you are retaking it.
