Changing my accomodation

I have just been accepted into the University of East Anglia and am expected to start in September. I have received my accommodation which is in the main campus however it was my second choice and only my second choice because it was the next cheapest option but the expenses are still a bit too high. I was hoping to get the village as it's the cheapest and quietest. I have contacted the accommodation office non-stop however they still haven't offered me a solution to my problem. Does anyone know anything I can try or know anyone who is looking to move out of Village who I can swap with?

Hi @anonymous #1

Congratulations on being accepted into the University of East Anglia! 🎉 Starting university is such an exciting time, and even though you wanted to be in the village, being on the main campus has a lot to offer. From the lake to nature works, you’re sure to find living on campus to be very peaceful. Your’ll have access to a laundrette, the Sainsbury Centre, a shop and great places to find food right on campus. Approximately a two minute walk from your accommodation! Something that can make up for the extra costs and something that is able to offer you more.

What subject are you going to study?

I totally understand why you’re hoping to be in the Village, but after recent updates it seems like staying on campus might be the safer option for now. Especially since the Village is fully booked. However, I’m sure you will find the main campus accommodations to be rather relaxing and will offer you lots of places to study. Everyone is super friendly and I’m sure your’ll connect with your new flat mates. 😊

Wishing you all the best,

When I applied, Village was full so I don’t think there’s any more spots for village which may be why they haven’t been of much help
