Drop outs who didn't go back?

Hi all,

I dropped out of uni several months ago due to various reasons (poor mental health/financial issues/bad course).

After reading many posts on this site, it seems to be a trend that people who dropped out go back to uni.

I'm just wondering if anyone dropped out of uni, didn't go back, and is now successful/happy?

The uni I attended has dropped rankings massively and has been in the news for poor management. This is the only uni local to me and I am not in a position to do halls. So I am unlikely to go back to full time uni anytime soon.

I'm considering the OU and degree apprenticeships as I would like the achievement of a degree, so anyone here who can comment on their experience with these would be much appreciated also.
I have been recently thinking the opposite! I have just finished second year and really struggled due to mental health, my learning disability (amongst other reasons), and I still have extensions and resits going on. I had thought a few times about what I would do if I dropped out, and read/heard a lot of people saying they dropped out and although it may have been tough for the first few months, they are now much happier after finding a job or finding a different type of course related to what they were studying (ie. not uni) etc.

I was worried because I study biochemistry, and although I'm not sure what I want to do after I graduate, the things I potentially want to do would all be quite difficult to do without this degree, so it's nice to hear that there are lots who do actually go back too.
