A level IGCSE

Hi. My results for my O levels were C's and One B for business. My school had contacted me and informed me that I couldn't take the subjects I wanted. The subjects i had opted for were Maths, Biology and Economics. I got all C's for those subjects aswell as english. Universities in my area require A level maths. My school said I would have to take either business or travel and tourism. I don't want to take either of those. What should i do?
Is this school your only option?
To clarify, as you cannot take your original subejcts would you be doing 1 course in either business or travel and tourism worth 3 a levels?
The honest truth is that entry requirements are there to ensure you’ve got the ability to take the courses, if you haven’t met them the taking a more vocational route could be a better option for you. As you got a B in Business it could be a good option for you to take. With unis, im unsure of where you would want to study but hopefully there are options maybe slightly further away that will accept you without a level maths- maybe look into this?
Hope this helps and best of luck with everything

Yes this school is my only option. My school said i would have to take BTEC applied science which is equivalent too 2 A levels and i'm completely fine with that but i have to choose one A level subject which would either be business or travel and tourism. I honestly don't think i'd be able to do A level business because my past performances weren't very good. I failed it for both my mock and premock exams. I honestly don't know how i got a B. Oh aand thank you so much.

Considering that Business was your best grade it could be worth taking it, did you enjoy the subject at GCSE level? If not then have a look at the spec for travel and tourism and maybe some YouTube videos from students you’ve taken it discussing their experiences to see if it appeals to you! Business is also somewhat similar to economics but more applied and less maths based if that helps!
Applied science sounds like a great option by the way and should keep some science routes open to you in the future
