What are my chances of getting into LSE Econ 2025

Hi,

I have just completed my a levels and considering reapplication for Econ, I originally applied for comp sci and have accepted Bath.

I achieved A*'s in maths and physics and A's in further maths and comp sci, however since I was 2 marks from an A* in comp sci I am getting that remarked. I also have GCSE's of 9999988776

I currently have no Econ super curricular activities but I plan to spend my gap year working on this as much as I can.

My question I guess is, do I have a good chance of getting in, what should I do to get in and is it worth missing out on the offer from Bath.

With those GCSEs and A*A*A then yes you have a competitive application.

My question is - if you want to study economics why are you starting a computer science course?

I had a change of mind, was pressured into comp sci and as such I am considering reapplication for Econ.

LSE look for a 'stellar' UCAS Personal Statement.
The reality is that Economics at LSE is massively competitive and even with your grades there is a strong possibility of rejection.

In pat years 60% of places to LSE have been made to students from India and China so the prospects are poor.

In addition LSE favours Further Maths which you dont have.

If you are thinking of taking Economics do so in the likelyhood you wont get into LSE and be prepared you might have to study it elsewhere.

Many with your grades are rejected every year. By all means apply but do so knowing you might well end up getting rejected.
