Hi I want to study modern languages at uni, in particular at Durham university. Does anyone have any tips on what to include in a personal statement, wider reading or any advice from someone who got into a modern languages course and what they mentioned in their personal statement.
Also I would love some tips on revision for languages if you have any.

Check over the course and see what interests you. Likely, there would be a significant literature component so it may be worth talking about any literature that interests you as well as the culture. If you are applying for an ab initio language, definitely discuss that language's literature (likely in translation) and what draws you to that language too.
