Amazon or Meta Software Engineering Apprenticeship Help

Hey so I want to do a degree apprenticeship at Amazon or Meta (non degree) after my A Levels but Amazons one says opening in 11 Dec 2023 and it's 2024 of course and it also says it's in Cambridge but they have done London in the past and it seems that's from last year.

Meta's one isn't hiring and hasn't been for 2 years but I read about people getting in. I'm nervous because these are the only 2 I'd want to do after A Levels and if I can't I don't know what I'll do. Maybe someone works at Amazon in that department and can connect me? I'm not sure, any advice is appreciated, thanks.
I don't currently work for Amazon, but I have gone through their interview process for a senior-level position, and I’ve also had the opportunity to visit one of their sites during my MBA, where I enjoyed a detailed presentation on their operations.

When comparing Amazon and Meta, it's crucial to understand their different business models. Amazon is a diversified giant with its fingers in many pies—e-commerce, cloud computing (AWS), and even entertainment. Its growth is driven by this diversification, and despite market fluctuations, it remains a robust and expanding company. Meta, on the other hand, relies heavily on advertising revenue, primarily through platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Recently, Meta has been facing significant challenges, including declining user growth and a less certain future, especially as they pivot towards the metaverse—a move that hasn't yet proven successful.

To make an informed decision, I recommend diving into recent financial reports and business news from reliable sources like the Financial Times, The Economist, or even industry-specific sites like TechCrunch. This will give you a clearer picture of where these companies are heading and help you decide which path might be more stable and aligned with your career goals.

Remember, degree apprenticeships at places like Amazon and Meta are highly competitive, and it’s essential to have a backup plan. Expanding your search to other tech companies or considering different routes to enter the industry could be worthwhile as well.

Good luck with your decision!

Yeah i'd definitely prefer Amazon especially since I get a degree and I feel there's better opportunity for career development. Is there any chance you could connect me to anyone at Amazon?

Likely the Amazon advertisement just hasn't been updated yet which is why it says 2023. In the next couple of months, I'm sure it will get updated to say when it opens for this year.

I don't know anything about Meta but I did help a couple of people get into degree apprenticeships with Amazon this year. If you want, I can send through some resources to help with your application including how to write a high quality CV, how to pass the Amazon game-based assessment and how to succeed in the Amazon assessment centre. Just let me know if you'd be interested in those and I'll send them over.
