Does anyone have advice on where to stay for the first year... is there any issues with not staying in SB?

I strongly recommend staying on campus if possible especially as an april student as it may be harder to find friends. If this doesnt work for you, there are other options. The village most people live in for later years, is Kegworth. This is about 30-40 minute walk from campus and there is a free unviersity bus. Staying in SB village is also an option. The issue with this is there is limited availability as there isn't quite enough houses in kegworth/SB village for the amount of students. There are many other villages around such as east leake that people do stay in but there is not any free transport so this should be considered. You can stay in nottingham and there is a free bus from campus but this does take about 30 minutes. This bus also goes through an area called clifton so this is also an option
