A Level Remark/Appeal question

Hi, I got my a level results on the 15th. My firm was Warwick maths (3 A*s, A* in further maths) and Bath maths and computing (A*AA, A in further maths), and I'm from Loughborough. I got b in physics, A* in comp sci, A* in maths, and an unexpected A in further maths. The grade boundary was 90% or 270/300 across four papers and I got 268/300, which means atm I'm going Bath.
I am not one bit keen on bath and the more I look into, the more I hate it, eg £100+ travel, far from family and I've never actually been more south than Northampton.
I'm trying to go for a remark but annoyingly my school as of this year makes us ask for it through a microsoft form. I asked for the papers back on the 15th with it apparently taking up to 7 days. The priority remark takes up to 15 days, which would mean I would ideally request the remark on Monday, tomorrow, in time for the 04/09 deadline.

I've heard remarks can go down so I planned to get the four papers back and pick and choose and try scrounge for marks that way. My question is should I hold out for a couple extra days to get the papers back and show it to my maths teacher, and then send off the priority remark and pray it comes back earlier... or just send off all four papers on Monday for the remark? Clearing options kind of suck as well for the sort of courses I was after so I'm really hoping for this remark to go well so don't want to mess it up

Sorry for posting again, posted it in the wrong place initially I think

Hi, I missed Edexcel FM by few marks and missed my firm option. I called the Uni and they asked for a remark. My school downloaded the papers the same day so I could verify and following that I asked for remark in two papers. As there is hope to increase marks in the 2 papers, the others I could loose a mark.

I'm hoping FM remark turnaround time should be much quicker than other subjects like Econ or English.

Did you call Warwick and ask if they'd let you in anyway as you missed by a narrow margin?

Wow the same day? I hate how my only point of contact to getting the exams is a microsoft form and a crappy email address. My guess is that whoever's in charge just doesn't work weekends
I called Warwick on the day and they said I'd have to get the required grade, not surprised as I read when first applying that they are not lenient whatsoever with this course. Good to hear that you reckon you thought you could get extra marks cos I heard maths can be hard to scrounge for marks as its not as subjective, best of luck with your remark

Thank you. Best of luck to you too.
Just so you are aware, I think 22-Aug is the deadline for priority marking requests.

Something similar happened to me, I got an A* in maths and 3 As being in further maths, physics and chemistry, i also got 268 in further maths (and i was 3 off in physics as well) and Warwick wont let me in cause i needed 2 A*s and an A. I found a decent course at Lancaster uni but they're wanting me to accept the offer before the remark comes back for further Maths/physics :frown:
Wow that's pretty scummy, both of mine are being reasonable and gave the 04/09 deadline. Ig cos it's clearing but my mate got into Lancaster computing through clearing and he's still hoping for his remark to get into exeter? Prob a less in demand course or something but that's so harsh
If you havent already, well worth getting your papers back for edexcel further maths and carefully look at your mistakes cos they say if you got the mark for each little criteria, as in 1 Q08dM1, 0 Q08dM2, 0 Q08dA1, 0 Q08dM3, 0 Q08dA2, so you can pretty easily double check yourself and see if there's anything you could possibly haggle a method mark on before you accept Lancaster. AQA Physics is harder to check urself cos they just gave the number of marks but then again I also suck at physics. Cant help but think we've been shafted this year tbh with physics and fm, like 72/75 for A* in that further pure 1 is just excessive, and the fact that you chose chemistry, rough all round

Oh wait 72/75 was on further pure one not core pure 1 nvm
update if anyone's interested, gained the two extra marks i needed in further mechanics... but then dropped one in core pure 2 🥲. 269/300 so one mark short and missed out on the warwick maths. Its so frustrating to see some of the "mistakes" I made

Nooo thats so annoying and cruel, im so sorry, i was lucky and manage to gain 2 marks on mechanics and the others stayed the same, so i got my 270 and they let me in, such a shame that i wont be seeing you , maybe next year?

That's amazing, I've honestly heard of way too many bad experiences from my year, so genuinely good to finally to hear about a good one. Hope u ace it over there
Sadly not, was very close to a gap year but I've decided to just go to my insurance

Bath is great and Warwick is in decline so I think you will not regret this.
