drinking at newcastle

hi im about to start maths at newcastle university in september 2024, im really excited but i'm kinda scared for freshers week/socialising in general as someone who doesn't drink. i'm worried that i'll struggle to make friends, i don't even really want to go clubbing lol. is this normal or will i likely struggle? any help would be appreciated as i'm stressingggg thank you

I'm in a similar situation as well. About to start mech eng in september. I rarely drink and not bothered about clubbing but I'm sure there's plenty of people who are the same. Newcastles put up some Freshers event things on their website I think I saw that aren't revolved around drinking and I imagine some won't be bad 🤞🏻. If you're moving into student accom I'm sure you'll find some nice flatmates. I'm hoping 🤞🏻

Hi Im doing maths and econ at Newcastle in september too and I'm in a similar situation to yourself - I'm sure there'll be many people who don't drink and I'm very sure you'll still have a good time. Whilst I do drink I don't do it as excessively as some people were on partners lol.

There'll be plenty of stuff on aimed at people who don't drink.

Look at the student union website. You'll likely find some info on there.
