Hi, just seen that the Belfast centre is now closed. Any updates? Just wondering if this is a temporary arrangement. Thanks

Yeah, it's not temporary.
If you've got Northern Irish citizenship; a private school will likely take you (with a fee).
As I haven't got that citizenship, I'm going to England to sit the a-levels.

Can't find anywhere for my daughter to sit her IGCSE (just one subject). Will have to defer to the Oct 25 sitting as impossible as papers she was doing are too close to CCEA subjects she is doing in school. Would have worked if held in Belfast but not if involved travel to GB. None of the schools who deal wtih Cambridge iGCGE take private candidates. So waiting til Oct 25 timetable is published and if it is over half term and papers just a day or two part will do in Birmingham. Think that is the one closest to an airport with plenty of flights from Belfast.

Yeah, travel seems to be the only option for a lotta people out there.
Hoping your trips will go well, do you plan on staying in Birmingham in between the papers or making separate flights? We're unsure whether to take the whole family to London for my sister's iGCSES or just her making the trip with one parent a few times.
It's a bit of a pain, as we live nowhere near an airport.... but it's literally the only option 😩

It depends on the timetable in Oct / No 2025. If they are like this year they are on just one day apart so would stay maybe Travellodge. I hope 2025 timetable is the same and it co-incides with half term. Not sure if it is even doable as she will be sitting some CCEA English modules in Nov 25. Fortunately we are only 35 mins from airport. It certainly adds to the expense. I was hoping another centre would pop up but really doubt it.

Are you using AQA? There are some centres accepting private candidates from the list on their website. https://www-forms.aqa.org.uk/student-and-parent-support/private-candidates/finding-a-school-or-college#northern_ireland_49871

Sorry. I don't know any centres offering CIGCSE. There's a centre in North Belfast called Loughshore, I know they offer AQA and CCEA but I don't know about Cambridge. They may be worth a shout.

Hi how did you contact them I tried to email and got no reply

I don't see them in the CCEA or AQA external candidates booklet anywhere - but they were definitely on there. When you google them you get a phone number rather than an email address. It might be worth calling.
