is woodhouse were all the smart kids Go?

i am considering to go there but i am really afraid that will get overwhelmed and wont meet the school expectation?
is this school competitive ?

Competitive- will only be as competitive as you make it in all honesty. I didn’t really find students being pitted against each other while i was there if anything it was a lot like my secondary school where the classes had a range of pupils who were strong or weak at the subject.

Overwhelmed - didn’t happen to me but if you leave it to the last second then yeah, they don’t set out much hw but you’re kinda expected to revise on your own. Remember consistency is the name of the game.

I went there during the covid bubble between 2020 -2022 and did maths, phys and comp sci

thank you for answer i am doing maths and chem and bio , i was just a be scared since i have heard is quite competitive school
and i get stressed out easily since i suffer from severe anxiety
how is it like being in woodhouse ? it would make it easier to decide if i want to go there

When starting out i used to have quite a lot of imposter syndrome but it was a very relaxed environment and there are quite a lot of staff and resources to help you deal and combat your anxiety.

At woodhouse it was actually really fun, teachers are friendly and approachable ( I can only speak for maths) and a lot of the people I met there were also the same.

Also the competition isn’t really there, like nobody would ever try to one up another person. But as always as long as you do revision outside of school and not leave things to the last minute you should be fine

Nah lol i wasn’t really smart back in y11 and now I’ve gone here they’ve really helped. My a level predictions are A*A*A* and it’s not competitive at all, there are loads of people with a huge variety of grades. And it will really help you get ur grades up asw

It’s competitive in the sense that it will make you want to work and study harder because the students are actually motivation. its not overwhelming unless you stress yourself out. first week for me last year was hell but then after it was so fun so yeah
