maths GCSE and university

hello everybody,

i failed my maths GCSE resulting in a 3. since then i have continued to fail every retake doing everything i could do. i know in my heart i have failed the one coming up. there was no hope with nerves and tears.

i have received every GCSE between grades 6-8. Including my recent a level grades being A* B C. all i lack is mathematics. i have always aspired to become a midwife and now im not sure what to do as university’s won’t take me having no maths qualification.

has anyone else had this problem?? i’ve been sobbing all night not knowing what to do next. it’s been really getting me down as i feel like im stuck and now im out of school i have no idea how you retake maths gcse.

maths ruined my life xx

If that what the Uni wants its for a reason - that you need maths skills for that course - and that career.

Wait and see what happens on results day. Have you thought about doing functional skills instead? It’s a bit more life based and people find it easier, most universities will accept it for midwifery and nursing now.
