Having trouble picking out my A-level subjects.

I just cleared my IGCSEs and under pressure from my parents took the pre med subjects (bio, phy, chem) and psychology. However recently we were informed I'll likely not have any school or academy so they were rethinking and told me I can do whatever now. At first I thought of dropping Physics for mathematics but I've also taken an interest in cyber security and such and was thinking of picking up CS since there's less options after the pre-med subjects since I'm not gonna give the MCAT as it'll be too expensive to afford or the MDCAT since they have an unfair deduction of marks here in Pakistan. I plan on going abroad for study and since yesterday I've been confused about what subjects I need to do. Plus I'm a bit hesitant on taking CS as I didn't give the IGCSE for it and I've already started studying from my brother's IGCSE textbook for CS, I couldn't give it since I was at 10 subjects in IG-1 and IG-2 (bio, phy, chem, math, art and design, evm, pak studies, isl, Urdu, FLE) and couldn't pick it up in my last year and even dropped arts because I had to focus on my sciences. I got A's in PS, Bio, FLE, math, evm and B's in Urdu, isl, phy, chem. I'm really confused since I'm suddenly being told I don't have to do med and psych and CS are really subjects that interest me a lot. Any suggestions?

Heyy, if you are really interested in CS then i say go for it. if you think u can handle the syllabus and score well too then you should definitely go for it. or if you wish, there's IT too you can check that too.

I wasn't sure about CS when I chose that subject, turns out the fact that I was kind of interested in computers translated into me doing pretty good in CS. Just a heads up, it is HARD and if you hate some of your subjects, it's ok I hate half of my mandatory CS classes, but I love the other half with my whole genuie heart

Thanks a lot! what's a good subject combination since I'll likely study online and the online college only allows Phy, Chem, Bio, Psych, Sociology, Mathematics, CS, Law, Accounting, business and economics. Because I'm really torn right now

Hmm, it depends on what your future career path plan is and to which uni you would want to apply too. As sometimes some unis require specific a level subjects. However, seeing how you are interested in psych, I would suggest for you to go for it too. As far as I know, its content heavy loaded (but like which subject isn't? lol) I would also suggest to take mathematics as its required almost every uni.

So, maybe CS, Psych and Math?
(but then again, these are just some suggestions, definitely go with your own gut feeling and choice of interest and check out the syllabus of all)
Best of luck!!

I'm not sure about physics but I personally enjoy the contents in IT (being a little biased here sorry). If you can juggle the contents of physics alongside with the other three subjects then that's good, you can take that instead.

P.s I just realised this
"Combining with other syllabuses Candidates can take this syllabus(IT 9626) alongside other Cambridge International syllabuses in a single exam series. The only exceptions are: Cambridge International AS & A Level Computer Science (9618)"

but this is in case if you're studying CAIE.

Wait I didn't understand the last part (I am in CAIE) so like does that mean I can't take IT or?

I think so? As it's stated in the syllabus guide.. maybe like in one single sitting you can't?

So I'll probably have to give all 4 IT exams at once and all the CS exams the next year
