If you used Clearing in 2024, how did you find it?

Is University of Manchester worth it?

I want to study anthropology, and not many universities offer it, and while some like UCL offer it, it's quite expensive. Also, Uni of Manchester is pretty high up the rankings but i do know rankings don't necessarily mean you'll have the best life there, plus living costs are insane so i wouldn't want to waste any by making a wrong decision

Manchester is definitely cheaper than London but not by much. As for rankings, what is your end goal? Anthropology is pretty academic and not much use in itself to the commercial world so so called prestige probably counts for very little. I would suggest you consider life after uni. What is the end game? If you love the subject then do that but if you just fancy it with a view to getting a job it might be worth being a bit more strategic.
