Aerospace Engineering - UCLAN vs Nottingham Trent

I've been accepted onto both courses (foundation year) and I was wondering if anyone had any insights on which uni is better for Aerospace Engineering? On thecompleteuniversityguide, UCLAN is #20 and there "isn't enough data" to rank Nottingham Trent. I'm really not sure which one is better, I know that nottingham is more employment-focused though and you need to privately book for a placement year at UCLAN.

Have you been to each open day? What were the tutors like? Which course looks more appealing to you? Which would you prefer to study at.

Employers couldn't care less where you go but you want the best experience so go and see them!

Hi @helphelp7273, congratulations on your offer from NTU! We're so pleased to hear that you're considering joining us to study Aerospace Engineering. The course was new for 2023 entry, however its part of our established suite of engineering courses, we're in the top 20 for General Engineering (Complete University Guide 2025) and 4th in the UK for General Engineering (Guardian University Guide 2024). You'll have the opportunity to use our world-class facilities in our dedicated Engineering building. I'd recommend taking a look at our course page and modules to get a feel for what it's like to study the course at NTU.

NTU has been recently ranked 1st in the UK for Employability (University Compare 2025) and throughout and following your studies you'll have access to our expert team, and Nottingham is a great student city to live in - take a look at our student life pages to see what life outside of lectures will be like.

If you've got any questions just let me know 🙂 We hope to welcome you soon!

Best wishes,
Sammie - NTU rep

Hi there!

I would recommend having a look at the UCLan website for the most up to date entry requirements as these may change year on year!
