Science field jobs bad alevels

I achieved CDD in my alevels. And am going to pursue a biomedical science degree with foundation year. In order to get good job oppurtunities, will m’y a levels put me down? Do they care? If I get a first class or 2.1, will the fact I got CDD cause automatic rejection?
Any help is appreciated!

Would it not make more sense to resit your A-levels? That way you're not paying for a year of uni that you don't really need. Plus it could give you more options when reapplying.

Some graduate employers look at A-levels, some don't. You can just not mention your A-level grades on your CV and people probably won't ask.

Hey @joyous-esse

Once you've completed your degree, your university grade will be the important one to be honest. Good A Levels can help if you're trying to get a job before you graduate, but a strong personal statement in your CV can definitely help. Experience is highly valued in the science field, so if your uni offers a placement year or any internship programmes, I can't recommend it highly enough!

As you would like to study biomedical science, are you hoping to become a biomedical scientist? If you are, then a degree accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) is essential to become fully qualified to work for the NHS.

At Essex, we do also offer BSc Biomedical Science (with Foundation Year)

I study BSc Applied Biomedical Science with an NHS placement year, that I'm on currently. I'm working in an NHS hospital lab in the histopathology department, finishing my placement next month, and going into my final year of uni in October. So I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.

Best wishes,
