The Student Room Group

Is this student freshers accommodation more isolated than the bikini bottom at night

I heard firhill court has zero social life (and people never heArd of it before). Is this true? If so, what on earth is my social-leeching self supposed to be social?

Oh, and it's in the University of Glasgow btw (don't really expect any answers from a student forum but tried my luck).

I have absolutely no response to your actual question as I'm going there as a first year myself in September but I also want to know haha

hiya! I stayed at firhill court last year, and that’s definitely not true from my experience! you should definitely try to meet people through those WhatsApp groups that are specifically for firhill court as that’s what I did, however our building was packed! there were flat parties really often in the beginning before classes really started getting heavy. Then they started dying down a little to just weekends, but as long as you try your best to explore with your flatmates or yourself it’s super easy to talk to the others and be more aware of anything is going on in the other blocks. It’s also a 5 minute walk (not even) to Murano as there’s always something going on over there if there doesn’t happen to be anything on at Firhill, but people definitely know of it. Honestly I never had a bad experience until I got a really rubbish roommate who moved in and was literally so messy… But I wish you the best of luck with everything! you’ll definitely find your people!

So basically how do I get the WhatsApp groups?

And basically, do I just be social with everyone else in the flats and I'm good?

Hey, I'm going there this year too- also pretty worried about that because it seems kinda far from other accom (but close to Murano which is meant to be really lively so that's good). Did you manage to get onto any WhatsApp groups?
