Confident Caring Assessment

I completed and submitted my Confident Caring Assessment as part of the Nursing requirement assessment at Napier University. I submitted this on Wednesday 15th August, it is now Monday 19th August and have not heard anything from the clearing team. I have emailed and have had no response. Has anyone had this and how long it’ll take to get in touch?
I am gonna call them tomorrow because it’s too close to September time before inductions and courses start. Thanks 😊

Don't panic about it 😞 😞
They will have thousands of others students confident caring assessments to go through as well.

Considering you only submitted it last Wednesday sometime they will need time to assess it as well as everyone else's before notifying you about things. You will probably be told you'll hear in due course.

You have at least 3 weeks before your student nursing course starts at Napier university. As think you'll start around the 2nd September...??

thanks so much! I’m just stressing and panicking because I’m sure it starts on the 2nd September, but i still need to see if I passed the CCA before I can apply to UCAS and have interviews. Just stressing 🤣

You are welcome 🤗 🤗

Yeah I think it's September 2nd you'll start your coursework at Napier.

Try not to stress and panic yourself okay 🙏.
Can understand reasons why you want to know asap about the CAA.
You could try and contact them to see if they can give you a update on this mate for you and at least you will know. I think you will have to contact your course leader as not sure if admission will know results.

Hopefully you will get a response soon.......

Do you know how many days uni is a week for adult nursing? I work at Lidl 30 hours a week and have to see if I can balance between the days

You could be in the university ( doing your practical work and lectures) Monday to Friday between 8.45/9am until 4.30pm as you usually do approx 37.5 hours per week for both studying in university and when you are doing your placement.

Unfortunately I don't really see how you can balance 30 hours a week working in Lidl and also attending university full-time. Your coursework is full on sometimes as you have to do things after you finish at university for the day ( writing up your notes etc) .
One thing you don't want to do is fall behind with your nursing degree coursework and land up failing modules/ assignments/ essays etc as you need to have all of your coursework when you are doing those as everything you do is part of those things and keep your coursework fall the whole 3 years of the nursing degree as you will have to go through it as you approach your final exams etc.

Maybe try and readjust your hours in Lidl to say a few hours at night a few days per week and weekends . It can be harder to work lots of hours as well as your nursing degree as you have to get your priorities right ( you can try to work more evenings and weekends to see how you cope with doing both and if you finding it difficult to work in Lidl and juggling it with your nursing degree then you need to cut your hours down in Lidl.

I worked part-time throughout my nursing degree in boots as I have been with them since I was 15 and they actually was accommodating with rescheduling my contractual hours and days.

Placements ( depending on what you are sent to do) if you are doing hospital wards then you will be doing around 12.5 hours per day/ shift working 3 days over the week with you having 4 days off but you could be doing Nightshift, day shift and weekends working.... A good thing is you generally get a monthly rota so you actually know what you can do out with your placement hours and this allows you to accommodate your hours in Lidl.

If your place is in either outpatient department or in community GP surgeries then you work Monday to Friday with a day off during the week and free weekends ( you work the opening hours of both GP and outpatients department which is generally between 8am - 6pm ).

Hey! I’ve applied through clearing too and I started the process about 3 weeks ago & just completed the Confident Caring Assessment today, I’m a bit worried going in late. How long did it take for them to get back to you if you don’t mind me asking ?
