When getting drunk is your only big pleasure in life, that puts you in a very dark place.
You can snap out of it. You can change your core inner being.

Literally not what this post was about, I am already trying to quit drinking so much

Really?

So if you filled your day with creating some form of art in the morning, walking round a National Trust property in the afternoon, eating a nutritious Michelin Rosette standard meal in the evening, going to a comedy club with a group of friends after supper, relaxing in a bath whilst reading a chapter from Animal Farm just before bedtime, you don't think you'd sleep any better?

Right because it’s not at all an unrealistic solution that I should just spend all day MaKiNg ArT and ****, not like I have to have a job or I’m doing a law degree or anything

I have tried extensively to make friends and it’s never worked out because people pick up a weird/off putting vibe from me that makes them instantly know they don’t like me without even giving me a chance lol. I think I could be autistic or something but never been diagnosed

It was a hypothetical thought experiment question that I was asking.

If you wanted to make it into a practical reality, you'd substitute all sorts of different things to suit you as a person.
And you don't work at your job 365 days per year. And it's the summer holidays now from your uni. And please note that I said "creating some form art" and not "Making Art" - ie some form of art could be a very wide range of things, such as a youtube video, or a few pages of a book, or some posts on an internet forum, or acting in a theatre production, or a musical performance etc etc etc

What are you waiting for? Go get assessed for autism. You may be on the autistic spectrum or you may not.

You're clearly an intelligent, well educated person, with an ability to get things done in the face of adversity.

The waiting lists for assessments and mental health **** are too long and I’m moving abroad to study in a few weeks, and seeing as I don’t want any assistance or support with it whether I’m autistic or not, it’s not a process I’m willing to invest time/money in at the minute
Get a quick informal assessment from a sensible adult that's capable of doing a bit of Google research into autism.

And then treat that assessment as highly provisional until you can get fully assessed.

Knowledge is power. Knowledge of yourself is power over yourself.

I’m an adult and capable of doing research myself, don’t need to ask some random to evaluate me
Yes, it's perfectly fine if you're the sensible adult that does the informal assessment.
However, you did say "I think I could be autistic or something but never been diagnosed", making it sound like you've not done the google research and informal assessment yet.

I’ve done online self assessment quizzes and all say I have the symptoms, I just wouldn’t go around claiming I had a disorder that I hadn’t been diagnosed with. But I’m not looking for professional help or anything so not much point in pursuing formal diagnosis, I just think it could be a probable explanation for what’s wrong with me
