Pre study recource list

A few months ago, I received a pre study reading list for my uni course but am unsure whether I should wait until after I start the course to begin the reading or start doing some of it now. Some of the reading suggestions are lighter than the others - for example some are very short books/ articles while the others are full books. The books listed are quite expensive so I don't think I can afford to buy or read them all. What should I do? Do I just dip in and out of what I fancy or not bother with it at all?

Read the ones that are free (JSTOR etc) or cheap?

Hi @michaela001

I would suggest starting the reading before you start the course as you will be able to give more time and attention to the content but it will also reduce some of the work load when you start your course. I would start with the free ones and then when you start at your university you should have access to some if not all of the other reading through your university library which will reduces the costs of buying books. Also during your first week of university your lectures will suggest what books they may recommend you getting as they will be referred to a lot.

I hope this helps and good luck with your university journey 🙂
