Hello,

I'm currently touring universities, and I'm looking at Aber, but was wondering what the social life and general life is like on campus with students, due to it being quite remote - could any current students give an insight into what its like?

Hey,

My name is Mostafa. I'm a 3rd year student at Aberystwyth University.

Don't fret! There's a lot to do at Aberystwyth! To start off, our Res. Life team arranges weekly events targeted at students living in university accommodation with one free movie screening every month. There are also loads of clubs & socs which host their own events on various days of the week, not just weekends. Whether you’re into sports, music, arts, or just hanging out with friends, there’s always something going on. If you live in university accommodation, you get free access to the gym on campus, which includes access to our swimming pool, squash courts, sauna, etc. It's a great way to stay active without needing to travel far.

Our campus is convenient, with everything you need in one place. It's home to our accommodation, restaurants and cafes, the Students’ Union, teaching and studying facilities including two libraries and the National Library of Wales (a copyright library) adjacent to campus.

In terms of nature, Aberystwyth is pretty unbeatable - it’s right by the sea, so you can take beach walks whenever you like, and there are beautiful hiking spots nearby. If you enjoy the outdoors, this place is perfect for getting a break from studying and relaxing.
