Hey @tyyyhh 👋

Both forensic science and chemistry could lead to exciting career paths.

Is there a course that you are most passionate about, and eager to learn more about? It's important for you to study a course that genuinely excites you.

Do you have any universities in mind? If so, maybe compare the course modules for each of these courses and have a think which intrigue you more.

If you're still unsure - you could maybe look into doing a combined degree?

It can be really difficult to decide which course is for you when you have multiple interests, but I'm sure you'll make the right decision 😀

Morning @tyyyhh 🤗

Both courses sound great, and I'm sure both lead to many exciting career paths. Is there a careers advisor at your school/college that you can speak to regarding careers? It might help you in making your decision. I'd also recommend booking onto some university open days and going to the course talks for both of these courses, you'll find out about the modules so you can compare the two, find out about the careers open to you and where their graduates have gone on to work. You'll be able to speak to the academics who'd be teaching you on the courses and the current students as well so you can ask all your burning questions! Especially because you want to study both the degrees equally, I think it would be good to go to some open days and speak to different people about it.

Good luck in making your decision! I'm sure you'll make the right choice for you and have the best university experience. 😀

Hiya,

In addition to what has already been said, it might be useful to look at this website: https://www.prospects.ac.uk/careers-advice/what-can-i-do-with-my-degree. It has lots of options of careers for both subjects.

Ultimately, it comes down to your long-term career goals and interests. If you want a versatile science degree, chemistry is a solid choice. If your passion lies in applying science to solving crimes, forensic science might be more aligned with your goals.

I'm a third-year chemistry student so if you have any questions regarding what studying chemistry is like feel free to ask.

You might want to check this but from what I know from my oldest son's ex who did Forensic Science she seemed to think there were very few specific career opportunities in that field.
