Hi,

Most universities do a business management course which combines management overall, and I would take it finance would be a main topic within the course. They also do just a business finance course which would be what you are looking for.

Just as a question, would you like a university close to home or are you alright with moving away? The top universities for finance seem to be London area, but it really depends on your preferences, grades etc.

I'd suggest having a look at local universities first, as they are likely to have similar content to those of a higher university, just with higher grades/fees.

Hope this helps, happy to discuss further if needed.

Hi @reckless-bobcat,

Doing a business degree is an excellent choice! I'm personally doing business and management, so hopefully my advice will help.

To find the right course for you, I highly recommend checking out the modules being taught each year. This allows you to get a greater understanding of what exactly you will be learning.

I also highly recommend looking at graduate schemes you are interested in. These schemes will state the degree you would need to get onto them, therefore you can base your decision off the career prospects.

Based on my experience, I have loved studying business and management at UCLan. During my first year I've built a strong foundation of knowledge of management, various types, the history of management and how various business apply current business knowledge. I've also used the university's support to begin my own business and I regularly schedule catch-up calls to get advice from staff who have a designated role to support student business start-ups. There is also the opportunity to do a year in industry and excellent career prospects, in fact we are rated first in the north west for graduate prospects. Although this course doesn't include finance, I would still highly recommend checking it out. We do have a course for accounting and finance too, which also has great career opportunities.

I hope you manage to find the right course for you and I hope this helped,
-Sophia (Business and Management)
