Hi, I applied late for SFE and they are saying it will take more time. What should I do and I cant get registered if you havent paid. thanks

Hi there,

What funding have you applied for and when did you apply to Student Finance? What do you mean that you cannot get registered until you are paid? We can only make payment once your application is approved and your university send us Confirmation of Registration.

I applied on 18th July and last year I did self funding so you have to make a payment before registration, so I thought it would be same. I applied for 3 year course in UoL and do I have to tell the uni I'm using SFE?

Hi there,

Applications can take 6-8 weeks to process and I would advise you tell the university that you are not self funding your course this year as we cannot pay you until we have your Confirmation of Registration.

oh ok so I can get confirmation of registration from uni if I tell them this? Do i have to send it to SFE or is it automatically sent to them?

Hi there. Your University will not be able to send us the registration until your application is fully approved, at this point they can send it to us so that we can then make the first payment to yourself. Thanks, David

Thanks! But It may take 6-8 weeks which will be past university registration deadline before it gets approved. I wont be able to register in time. any idea what I can do?

Hi there,

It would be best to discuss this further with your university, as every university is different. Once your application is approved, it will show online in your account first then you will be sent your letter to confirm it in the post.
