Hey
Good luck with your mocks! I’m sure you will do well! As for the open evening, I have a prior commitment and unfortunately won’t be able to attend. (Maybe the one in January) To be honest I want to go to either Brampton or Harris Westminster so NCS isn’t my top priority more of a back up. However, do let me know what you think of the school if you do go to the open evening! 😊

thankyou, goodluck with your mocks too
yeah same, i'm probably going to the one in january

hey i think its fine if u live an hour away if u can manage it because i know someone who went to brampton from chelmsford.
a lot of people i know that are interested in medicine are taking psychology a level with maths bio and chem however it isnt a stem subject so its upto you!
i would personally recommend physics because it's a sort of well-regarded a level and it could give you a competitive advantage to other applicants in uni if you do well in it i guess.
also what are your predicted grades? im applying to ncs and brampton as well.

Hii! I want to apply to NCS and Brampton as well (LAES too) Good luck to all of us this year 🙂

I'm currently doing my mocks so I guess I'll know my exact predicted grades when I get my results but currently it's looking like:
Business 9
Maths 8/9
Eng Lang 8? (aiming for a 9)
Eng Lit 8? (aiming for a 9)
Biology 9
Physics 9
Chemistry 9
French 9
History 9?
And we haven't done any tests or anything for Further Maths so idk
I wanna do Psychology, Maths, Biology and Eng Lit 🙂 what about you?

Just to add on to your comment saying physics is not a good option of anyone wants to do medicine as medicine is already quite difficult but adding physics is basically hell, currently at brampton doing maths, fm, econ and physics.

P.S. Considering physics but a lot of people have said that my combination of subjects is a hard one and I’m not sure I’ll even get a 9 for gcse (8 maybe) anyways thanks for the info and I’ll put your point under consideration!

First of all currently at Brampton doing maths, fm, econ and physics. If you want to do medicine do not choose physics as a 4th subject, its very hard. But if you are good at managing your time, I would recommend brampton since they place quite a bit of pressure on students to help them succeed and if you focus the next two years you will receive great results. If you have any issues or don't understand something just ask any teacher that teaches that subject and they will provide with all the support possible to help you understand it. They also have teachers whose sole purpose is to provide you with extracurricular opportunities so that you won't have to look for them yourself and there is also a group in google classroom where they put work placement programmes that you can apply for. If you want to do something relating to medicine, you just have to go to them and ask. And they will do what they can to provide you with any opportunities. They very much priorities students achievements and success but make sure you are very good at managing your time and almost forgot I would recommend fm as a forth subject or something easier like psychology also just to let you know if you choose fm you will do your a level maths a year earlier.

So, good luck and choose what you truly love.

Hi
I see you are doing four a levels. I was wondering if you know if Brampton lets you drop to 3? Is there a time limit or are you forced to sit the fourth exam even if you fail? I just don’t want to do 4 and end up failing…
Thank you!

tbh not sure about mocks cause for me it was decent but i want to add on to what i said previously about subjects, since you want to do medicine, I believe maths is compulsory for most schools and if you want to go to brampton, you can choose further maths alongside, maths, chem and bio since you can just drop it for second year and won't matter but the most important thing is that you wont have to revise much for maths in second year since you would have already finished all content first year and will also be experienced in doing maths a level mocks and also everything else you do in maths after u drop further, will just be revision. This may somewhat make 2nd year a lot easier so u can focus on other things but first year will be very difficult.

So the forth subject is only compulsory for the first year but if you do really good in as level for all four, you can choose to keep the forth subject or can drop it, up to you.

Also forgot to mention just try to keep your average above 8 as this will most likely secure a place for you and the subjects you want to do.

Let's get to know each other!
1. Write down which sixth form you're going to (LAE Stratford, LAE Tottenham, Brampton Manor, NCS, KEGS, or any other)
2. Write down what subjects you're taking
We can all chat about our feelings and become friends before we start sixth form!
I'll start:
1. I want to go to either LAE Stratford, Brampton Manor, or NCS - God willing! 🤲
2. I'm studying Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Economics (though I might change Physics to Chemistry)
