Is it possible to get into LSE BSc finance without FM

It says “further mathematics is desirable”. I don’t do FM and it is offered at my school.

Does it drastically lower my chances?

Is there a way I can sit AS further maths privately and get a predicted grade?

There is no reason why you can't learn A-Level Further Maths by sitting papers: CP1, CP2, FM1 and FM2 and FS1, FP1 or FD1 on Edexcel in just 4 or 5 months.

The best place to sit them is Campbell Harris College here in Kensington, London. Just a short walk from High Street Kensington tube station. Because they accept everybody who can pay the £375 fee for A-Level Further Maths or any other A-Level.

Ok thanks, but do they offer AS? Also how would it work with the predicted grade?

You would need a tutor or your old centre i.e. Sixth Form to predict you a grade.

Your Head of Maths or Head of Sixth Form is the most likely person to predict you the grade.

Also, have you decided on which options you're studying? FM1? FD1? FM2? FS1? FP1?

You do 1 Pure paper and 2 optional papers from FM1, FD1, FS1, FP1, FM2, FP2, FS2 and FD2.

The most common papers are FM1, FD1, FS1, FP1, FM2 and the rest are hardy taken by candidates.

Did you download the zip file I sent you a PM inbox? Look at the eBooks in there.

Thank you so much. I think I’m going to do FM1. Which one do you think is the ‘easiest’ ?

FM1 and FD1 are easiest in terms of gaining high marks as you can rely on past questions and topics are still pretty much the same as the old specifications from 2001 to 2023 past papers. 🙂
