The Student Room Group

Making new friends and 'joining in'.

Hi everyone,

You'll arrive here on Sunday 22nd September. You'll be me met a 'halls team' who will introduce you to someone to show you where your room is. If you are commuting, there will be something laid for you too.

In your hall there will be a 'student warden' (now renamed 'Student Life Coach') who is a paid student who looks after a floor in halls and is a friendly face to ask about anything.

There is a who programme of fun Student Union activities (led by the terrific president Daisy Douglas - yes, Daisy is an Engineer!) from Sunday onwards and I predict you'll be swept up in the general excitement, but also guided and helped to settle in well. You'll get to meet the academic course teams that week too, all to make sure you can get everything you need from Harper Adams.

The real challenge of 'Welcome Week' is not having TOO MUCH fun and burning yourself out early (is that even possible).

Then there is a clubs and societies event, spearheaded by the amazing Maisy Glock (SU clubs and societies coordinator). Sign up to do something you've never done before! Join a BRC Rally team. Go climbing. Go shooting. Find stuff out about yourself that you never even suspected!
