URGENT!! York PPE or Warwick Sociology

I like the idea of PPE better than sociology and sociology wasn’t even something I’d thought about before someone I know put the thought of warwick in my head and i saw that they have sociology in clearing. I’m pretty confident I can get into warwick through clearing but I was wondering in terms of job prospects which one would be better? I am certain i’ll do at least a masters after graduating and if I can i’d like to do a phd as well. I know warwick is one of the best uni’s in the UK esp in my area of study. I was also wondering if I did sociology for one year would i be able to switch to a different course relating politics or econ? Thanks

PS oh btw i got into york already it was my insurance choice

im the same as you york ppe was my insurance too. I was supposed to be going to warwick but couldn't becuase my grades were too low. I'm kinda worried about employment after york cos warwick is better, but ppe is probably a more employable course then sociology, but idk

Yeah thats what i thought cuz all i’ve seen abt where sociology graduates go to is education which is something i would really hate doing so i’ve decided not to. So are you gonna go to york?

I think so yeah. My only other option is to resit, and I’m not sure if I wanna repeat all the stress of a levels again.

I want to go into banking in the future and I’ve heard that york isn’t a university employers target, whereas warwick is

Yeah at langwith. I’m still unsure about York and I’m really considering retaking because everyone says for banking, you need to go to a target university because thats the only way you’ll get employed

Idk personally retaking is never something i considered so im not the right person to tell you anything but i think you can always transfer? i wasnt too fond of the idea of york as well since theres going to be no one i know in the near distance but i decided to do a year and see if i want to stay there, if not i’ll try to transfer to a different uni, i was mostly thinking manchester, or do a masters in a more prestigious uni since i heard employers pay more attention to where you did your masters rather than where you did ur undergrad

thats cap ngl. york is a semi target, and really if you get a 1st at york and work hard u will be fine lol. theres always the option of a masters at a top top uni afterwards anyway and u will be in the same position.
