I sent in my BRP last week and I have not heard anything from student finance. I haven't received an email to say it has been received or is being sent back. I am getting really worried as it is my only form of ID and I have had issues in the past with SFE losing my documents.

I called them and the first time they said it is safe and will take 5 working days to process but when I asked them to confirm they had received it, the lady said she couldn't do that.

The second time I called the lady said oh that's unusual as it's your form of ID we usually process it really quick and you should have had it back. Then she spoke to other people and went on to say it can take 16 working days so I should just wait. I feel like they are just saying random things. Whenever myself or my siblings have sent a BRP in the past it is usually returned the next day.

I am really worried as they won't process my application until this is resolved which could cause further issues with the uni. Just wondering if anyone has any idea on how long it can take or what I can do in this situation?

Hi Blake. With original ID evidence, we need to allow the time for the evidence to be scanned and then it is processed. This can take up to 16 working days. This is why when you call we cannot confirm that we can see it on the system as we wont be able to until this time has passed. At this stage we would advise to allow more time for this to be done.
