Made fun of due to our age gap?

My bf is 28 turning 29 next month. I turned 33 last month. I'm 1991 and he's 1995.
People make fun of us saying I'm older than him and the age gap is too much.
One person also said why is he dating an aged lady and he should date girls in their twenties.

I don't look old at all but the moment they hear that he's 4 years younger than me, it's a source of mockery.

I was hesitant in dating him due to this but he insisted saying he doesn't care.

What do I do?

Are they saying this to your face, or are these comments online?

Either way, as long as the two of you are happy in your relationship, it's frankly on one else's business.

I'm not sure what planet these people are from, but it's a perfectly acceptable age gap relationship by anyone's standards (even by the "1/2 your age +7" rule, it's more than OK); and it's not like he's straight out of school or it's your last chance to have a kid. I'll bet if the ages were reversed, no one would bat an eyelid (just some people have an issue when the woman is older than the guy, for some reason). Personally, IMHO, when people stick their noses into other peoples relationships, it says more about their lives than yours.

Basically, take no notice of what they say; after all they're only words (sticks and stones & all that) ... if you can show it doesn't affect you, then they'll eventually get bored, move on and learn to tolerate (if not accept) your relationship. You say you don't look your age?... maybe in future don't draw attention to your age(s) and let people take you at face value. It might be an idea to limit your time on Social Media until it dies down, if it's really getting to you.

There is nothing wrong with this age gap and they are being idiots. Either treat it with the contempt it deserves or big up having a toy boy, as you prefer

Firstly, look up "Brigitte Macron , Wikipedia" and read her story of being married to a boy she met when she wasd his teacher, she 45 he 15. They are not married and he is President of France. A bit bigger a gap than yours .

In that case, just ignore them.

90% of the time, people only say these things to get a reaction from people. If you (well, the two of you) can show that you're not fussed what they think, then eventually they'll get bored and pick on someone / something else.

As I said, if you stay off social media until the heat is off, then you'll be none the wiser. As for the "Chinese Whispers" (are we allowed to use that expression these days?), remember they're only words, and they can only hurt you if you let them. Just laugh it off, and think that their lives are so boring and pathetic that the only entertainment they can get is to stick their noses into other peoples business. 🥱👃:unimpressed:

Apart from your looks, your sexiness in bed, your cooking, your charming personality, your empathy for others, your money earning, your car, your house, your intelligence, your education, your sense of humour, your passport, your level headedness, your lack of any particularly outstanding negative features, your honesty and your integrity; I can't think of a single reason why a 1995 guy would want to date a woman like you.
